We stopped into work today to say goodbye and good luck to Bob. He retired after 42 years at Johnson Controls. Beatrix is 4 months old and Liam and I canNOT wait until his head is stable like hers! Afterwords, we went for a haircut and lunch with Danielle, Ethan, Caleb, Heide, Sara, and her daughter Isabella. We were quite a large group - it was fun! Liam had a burger.

We went to Grams house today for lunch with Auntie Danielle, Ethan, and Caleb. Grams decided she wants the kids to call her GG for Great Gramma. I made my first cassarole - Chicken and Broccoli Divan. In true spirit, Grams said it could have used some noodles! ha.

Killer B Play Date

We stopped over at Uncle Matt and Auntie Val's house this morning so Gus could run around with Leo. Gus has been going stir crazy as of late - poor Poppy. While Brody is all like, "live it up, raise the roof, PARTY", baby bear was just not in the mood to party, clearly.

Today wrapped up our weekend of visitors. Lisa stopped over in the morning and the Priefer's stopped over in the afternoon. Claire loved "the baby" as well as my dog and cat, "Abby" - even our squirrels out back were "Abby" - cute.

On Friday, Auntie Jamie, Auntie Lauren, Laim, and I went to Olive Garden for lunch. I feel now that I'm a mom-at-home, it is officially my job to lunch. I am arranging a repeat for Monday! Additionally, I'm also thankful I did not have to use my prepared line, "Please look from a distance and do not touch - under any circumstances." ha

Cousin Lauren flew in from Minnesota tonight to meet Little Liam. They got along quite nicely. Uncle B-Rad also stopped over night but he was anti-picture mode. We had Grandpa and Gramma Schutten (Pa and Beth) over last night and forgot to take a picture for the blog - d'oh.

He Filled His Pants, I Filled the Bathtub

Liam had the biggest mess of a diaper I've ever had to change yesterday...which prompted me to give him a bath. He really enjoys the bath. He usually showers with Nick so I guess given his chillaxin' demeanor, this was a welcomed change for him.

Danielle, Ethan, and Caleb came over to visit today. Liam slept pretty much their entire visit but woke up a the tail end. We've had lots of visitors over the last 3 days: Grandma Colleen and Papa, Aunt Janet and Grams, and today the Schuttens. Tomorrow Pa and Beth are stopping over. I hope the neighbors don't begin to suspect suspicious activity due to all the comings and goings. ha

Brody Visits!

Little Liam's cousin, Brody, came over to meet him today. They had a lot to discuss given their closeness in age. Brody was telling him how he's now in size 1 diapers. Liam looks uninterested because he was born into size 1 diapers. He went right into the first, non-newborn size. I'm sure they will be picking on one another for a long time!

Taking the Bull By the Horns

After semi-conquering my first "non-shopping" outing yesterday, I decided to "take the bull by the horns" and venture out to Target today with Little Liam. It went exceptionally well - he slept the entire time. I'd like to think it is because he appreciates Target and all the goodness it has to offer...ha.

Today was my first adventure out-and-about with Little Liam (well, out-and-about alone I should say). We went over to visit Auntie Danielle, Ethan, and Caleb. Grandpa Schutten came over too! At the very moment I took the picture of Ethan, Grandpa Schutten, and Liam, Ethan threw Kait's toy and it hit me in the head. His actions made for a great photo since everyone smiled (or laughed, whichever). It went fairly smoothly aside from forgetting a few items at home.

Two Week Check-Up

Wednesday was our 2 week check-up (well, 2 weeks and 2 days technically) and everything is great. Little Liam surprised Dr. Amy by weighing in at 9 lbs, 7.5 ozs. On Friday, February 5th, he was 8 lbs, 15.5 ozs...so he gained over an ounce a day! Finally, we have a week off (next week) before going in for his one month check-up.

Finally, Allowing Daddy to Feed Him

The first time Nick attempted to feed Liam his bottle...Liam looked up at him and gave him the stink eye. I envision Liam thinking, Know your Role, Daddy! What do you think you're doing? When we tried it this time we had a burp cloth with my scent...you've seen the results. Both Daddy and Baby are very happy with the outcome!

Reducing His Carbon Footprint

Little Liam is already a young environmentalist - sporting cloth diapers to reduce his carbon footprint and diaper landfill waste. This picture just makes me want to say, "How you doin'?"

Great Grams Vists!

Grams came to visit with Little Liam today after her Travel Club Board Luncheon. I miss her being secretary on the board because I knew what she had going on - otherwise, when I ask her, she always says, "don't worry about where I'm going or what I'm doing!"

Best Friends posting...Poppy Gus and Ralph Kitty Lauren miss me on the couch. I dented in the cushion over the last 9 months during my pregnancy! I would sit between them - they have since adapted the seating situation. Little Liam and Luke hanging out. Hands-on-Dad and Baby Bear cuddling (as usual). And finally, Poppy Gus and Little Liam - cuddling (very, very briefly and carefully).

Ethan, Caleb, & Liam cuddling on our couch. Ethan said, "My little friend Liam is like a delicate flower!" With each Schutten visit, Nick and I are realizing we REALLY need to child proof our house before Little Liam is crawling. We have what, like 6 - 8 months, right?

Little Liam favors one side of his head. Thankfully, we have this ugly doll to keep him from looking in his favored direction! As his facial expressions clearly indicate, he "ain't scare of no doll"...

One Week Old

Baby Liam was one week old yesterday. He weighted in at 8 lbs 13 ozs at the doctor. We have to go back on Friday again for another weight check.
